We present a vision of the Christian body across the Vale of Mowbray, using maritime imagery and Scripture to illustrate the spiritual journey at three distinct levels
Assemblies
Assemblies
A fleet gathering within the protective walls of a coastal harbour illustrates wider assemblies of believers and congregations (Hebrews 12:22–24). With Jesus Christ as the 'Harbor-Master', these collective gatherings form a refuge away from turbulent waters to foster deep communion, shared testimonies, and mutual spiritual renewal before departing once more into active harvest and service.
Cedarwood Festival
Cedarwood Festival is the UK's northern Christian festival held in North Yorkshire. It brings together people, communities, and churches of all denominations to worship Jesus, seek God, and experience 24/7 worship, bible teaching, and community for all ages.
FLC Men’s Breakfast
This is run by Ralph Shalom from Family Life Church and is held every first Saturday of the month at 8:30am at White Horse Lodge, Sutton Road, Thirsk YO7 2ER. Join us for a time of food, fellowship and testimonies.
Hollybush Church Festival
This is a lively, community-focused gathering designed to bring people of all backgrounds together in worship, fellowship, and celebration. Combining spiritual renewal, energetic live music, and family-friendly activities in a welcoming rural setting, it serves as a vibrant day of faith and connection for both locals and visitors.
Hollybush Family Camp
Built around community, faith, and family life, the camp blends lively worship sessions, biblical teaching, and shared meals with outdoor games, campfires, and hands-on activities for children and teens. Set against an informal, open-air backdrop of camping and caravanning, it offers a relaxed space for all generations to unwind, build lasting friendships, and grow spiritually together away from everyday routines.
Jonas Centre
This is a Christian residential retreat and holiday centre set across 15 acres of peaceful woodland near Redmire and Leyburn. Welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds, the centre serves as a tranquil haven for church weekends away, family holidays, outdoor enthusiasts, and subsidized respite breaks for individuals navigating challenging life circumstances.
Silent Prayer Vigil
Come aside from day-to-day life and be in the Lord’s presence for a while. Our vigil days offer a peaceful sanctuary away from daily noise to wait upon the Lord, read Scripture, and abide at the Mercy Seat. Believers from all fellowships are welcome to join for the entire day or drop in for a quiet hour of personal reflection and unhurried communion.
CRUTCH Ladies Breakfast
Looking for a warm, welcoming start to your weekend? We’d love for you to join us for our Ladies Breakfast every second Saturday of the month @ 10:30am. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some delicious food, connect with others, and share in a supportive community atmosphere. Whether you’re a familiar face or visiting us for the first time, there is a seat at the table for you!

A worship night featuring a guest speaker. An opportunity to get together, make new contacts, share opportunities, a night for prayer, anointing and prophetic ministry. A night for "Word & Spirit" people to be as one in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Monday Morning Silent Prayer Hour
My son begins the start of his working week with a team meeting. Many others do the same, so as labourers in the vineyard, why don’t we? What better way to start the week than to be in the Lord’s presence for an hour as one body. Some like me may wish to use this time for Tabernacle Prayer, spending whatever time they may wish in the silent stillness of the 'Secret Place of the Most High', the 'Holy of Holies'.

The Local Church
The Local Church
A crewed vessel captures the local congregation journeying together as a corporate spiritual house and holy priesthood, built upon Christ as the chief cornerstone (1 Peter 2:4–6). Within the shelter of God's Word, members minister to one another in mutual trust while pastoral leadership holds the tiller, directing the activities and navigation of the body.
Christ Church
A vibrant, contemporary evangelical and charismatic church family based Church meeting in Romanby Methodist Church. We are passionate about Christ-centred worship, relevant biblical teaching, and genuine community.
Family Life Church
A lively, multi-generational charismatic-evangelical church based in Thirsk. We are dedicated to authentic, spirit-led worship, practical discipleship, and active local outreach. Our heart is to be a welcoming spiritual family where individuals and households of all ages can encounter God, grow in community, and make a lasting difference in the town and surrounding areas.
Dales Faith Community
A relational, house-based Christian community journeying together across the rural landscape of the Yorkshire Dales. Focusing on informal fellowship, prayer, and encouragement, we meet in homes to overcome rural isolation, build authentic community, and walk alongside one another with Jesus as our guide.
Easingwold Community Church
Easingwold Community Church is an informal, charismatic and family-friendly church meeting in the heart of Easingwold, aiming to provide a place where people can encounter the love of God and go deeper in their understanding of him.
Hollybush Christian Fellowship
An inter-denominational Christian Centre and active church fellowship situated on a working farm just outside the rural market town of Thirsk. We provide a welcoming environment for praise, prayer, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray for spirit filled anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Ryedale Methodists
Part of the wider Ryedale Methodist Circuit serving rural market towns and village communities across North Yorkshire. Based out of Helmsley Methodist Church, the ministry focuses on biblical teaching, discipleship, and Christ-centred worship, encouraging people to encounter the living water of Jesus and grow in faith.
Thirsk Salvation Army
A Christian ministry serving at the heart of the local community with a mission to love God and love others. Providing hands-on practical assistance, crisis help, family support, and a welcoming listening ear, we combine compassionate outreach with the sharing of the Christian message to support anyone in need.
The Well Church
A welcoming, Bible-based evangelical church located in the heart of Harrogate, currently meeting weekly in the upper room of the Empress Pub on Church Square. Their heart is to foster spiritual growth, support global missions, and build a close-knit, welcoming community for all who wish to learn and grow in faith.

The Individual
The Individual
A solitary boat under sail portrays the born-again believer as a personal temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). The hull represents the enduring foundation of Scripture, the billowing canvas catches the driving wind of the Spirit (ruach), and the individual exercises free will to steward the helm in willing obedience to God's calling.
Llion Hughes
In the summer of 2026 at the Cedarwood Festival, Llion was a volunteer at the Staff Canteen. During a break he gave us his testimony. He is a Homeless Pastor at the Light Group. The Light Group is active in the Vale of Mowbray. Three members of CRUTCH (a local church) are Homeless Pastors.

This is a heterogenous grouping comprising of national movements that support the Word & Spirit revival in the Vake of Mowbray, or local thematic groups such as festivals or special local churches.

The Revitalise Trust exists to serve, resource and revitalise the Church in its mission to reach the unchurched, make disciples and transform society. Our passion is to see vibrant, Spirit-filled churches, sharing the love of Jesus in practical ways in every community.

Fresh Streams
Fresh Streams is a national "Word and Spirit" movement operating within the Baptist Union of Great Britain that exists to equip, connect, and give courage to church leaders. The network encourages its members to be "rooted in the Word" and "alive in the Spirit," fostering church environments where rigorous biblical discipleship is actively paired with charismatic worship and the pursuit of spiritual gifts.
FOR CATHOLICS
CHARIS UK
This is the official coordinating body for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in England and Wales, established to unite and support various charismatic prayer groups, communities, and ministries. Its primary mission is to share the experience of "baptism in the Holy Spirit" with the wider Church, promote Christian unity, and serve those in need. The organization practically helps local parishes integrate charismatic worship with traditional Catholic sacramental life.
FOR METHODISTS
Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM)
Serving the global Methodist communion and historically rooted in the United Methodist Church, Aldersgate Renewal Ministries is the primary organizational network for charismatic Methodists. They affirm the present-day validity of all spiritual gifts—including healing, signs, and wonders—while remaining grounded in traditional Wesleyan theology. They operationalize this through "Life in the Spirit" seminars and team-led renewal weekends.
Cedarwood Festival
An independent event and registered Christian charity with a vision to unite the Church in worship and mission. Taking place at Thorp Perrow in North Yorkshire an annual weekend festival backed by many major denominations is hosted. It aims to gather all generations and expressions of the Christian faith to worship in unity, providing a space for biblical teaching, practical workshops, and encountering the presence of God.
CRUTCH
[Serving the most needy] We are an active Christian church, outreach charity and community hub based in Northallerton. We combine a clear communication of the love of God and the message of salvation with highly practical support to help people turn their lives around.
