Page Purpose: To document the street work, announce open-air worship services, and invite believers from any local church to participate in public proclamation.
Every week, the pavement becomes our embassy doorstep as we step out into the bustling market squares of Northallerton and Thirsk. Centred around our local display stand and interactive discussion boards, we engage shoppers and passers-by in warm, open-ended conversations about life, hope, and faith. Rather than relying on religious jargon, we meet people where they are—offering a friendly ear, sharing homemade cake, distributing Bibles and tracts, and praying expectancy-filled prayers for physical healing and personal needs right in the open air. Whether you need prayer, have questions about God, or simply want a quiet chat, our team is there weekly outside the Golden Lion in Thirsk and the Golden Fleece in Northallerton to demonstrate the Father's love in action.
On designated Saturdays, the market square transforms into an open-air sanctuary as believers from across the Vale of Mowbray gather under the singular banner of Jesus Christ. These public worship and witness services blend live praise, Scripture reading, and personal testimonies to lift up the name of Jesus in the heart of our civic centres. Conducted by a united cohort of musicians, intercessors, and witnesses drawn from different fellowships, this visible gathering expresses the apostolic unity of the "Church of the City". It is a joyful, collaborative declaration of the Kingdom—proclaiming to our entire region that the King of Peace is alive, active, and gathering His people as one.
"The presence of the Holy Spirit brings 'love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control' (Galatians 5:22-23). Tread softly!"
Stand With Us in the Public Square The street outreach welcomes believers from every local fellowship across the Vale of Mowbray to minister side by side. Whether your gifting is striking up friendly conversations, offering quiet intercession on the perimeter, or sharing musical worship, there is a place for you in the harvest.
