Page Purpose: To introduce the mission clearly and provide intuitive pathways for both seekers encountered on the street and Christians seeking prayer and fellowship.
Operating as a diplomatic outpost in the public square, this outreach meets the Vale of Mowbray and surrounding areas beyond church walls as witnesses to Jesus. Through regular market-day presence and open-air worship, believers step out as ambassadors for Christ—engaging in gracious conversation, inviting people to ‘repent and believe’, offering prayer for healing, and demonstrating the living presence of the Kingdom right on the pavement.
Rooted in the biblical pattern of the Tabernacle, this pillar moves past outward noise to cultivate deep relationship with the Lord. Through early morning corporate prayer watches and dedicated days of silent prayer vigils, believers are invited to ‘Be still and know God’. And for those engaging in Tabernacle Prayer to wait upon the Lord in stillness at the Mercy Seat—beholding His presence, surrendering in reverent adoration, and finding renewed divine strength before being sent out into the world.
Recovering the apostolic pattern of the "Church of the City," this work transcends denominational barriers to present a singular, cohesive witness in the unity of the Holy Spirit to a watching world. Rather than acting as a competing congregation, it serves as a collaborative vehicle that draws believers together under the cross of Christ—fostering regional unity, partnering across traditions, and celebrating shared sacred assemblies as one unified Body
Summary of the Video.
1. A Recent Awakening in Bridlington: The video begins by sharing an event that took place in Bridlington on October 10th, 2026. 1,100 people attended a beach meeting, where 550 individuals, many of whom were previously "unchurched," were baptized. It is an example of a spiritual hunger and a potential revival happening across Britain. The event was organized by Merlin Kraft drawing people to the event through his "BibleLadUK" YouTube channel. He was assisted by Pastor Dave Sylvester from Calvary Chapel Church York.
2. The Vision and Mission of Simply Christians: Simply Christians is an outreach group that has been actively engaging with people in the market towns of Thirsk and Northallerton for the past four years. We have noticed a shift, a similar spiritual hunger; initially, we were the ones initiating conversations, but now, more people are actively seeking us out to learn about Jesus and the Bible.
3. "Word and Spirit": A Unifying Theme: The Smith Wigglesworth Prophecy of 1947 is referenced which states that when the ‘Word and Spirit’ come together there will be the biggest movement of the Holy Spirit that we have ever seen. We observe this coming together of ‘Word & Spirit’ in events like Bridlington, as well as in individuals, local churches and gatherings in the Vale of Mowbray today. Looking wider the move is strongly represented within the established denominations too. “Word & Spirit” together is the key identifier of this move of the Holy Spirit.
4. Connecting with the “unchurched” on social media. As social media is a first point of contact for many “unchurched” to find out more, Simply Christians has launched a website to connect the ‘unchurched’ with local "Word and Spirit" churches and groups.
4. Expanding the "Ambassador" Role: Simply Christians is evolving its role through its web site to become a resource and reporter for leaders of "Word and Spirit" churches. We are taking a broader view, an "alta vista," of the spiritual landscape across the Vale of Mowbray and beyond, seeing ourselves as "ambassadors for Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven."
5. Defining Key Terms: The video outlines several concepts that the Simply Christians website features in relation to this move of the Holy Spirit:
"Word and Spirit" defined: "Word" can be described as a deep appreciation and regular study of scripture, being "on fire" for it. "Spirit" is described as a move of the Holy Spirit, which is less predictable but palpable.
"Awakening and Revival" defined: An "awakening" is described as a sudden stirring of the heart, a "wake-up call," particularly for those who are unchurched. "Revival" is seen as a process, often long-term, where God brings spiritual life to a community, similar to the story of the dry bones in Ezekiel.
The Body of Witnesses: The "Word and Spirit" movement exists on multiple levels: individuals, local churches, and larger assemblies or festivals (like the Cedarwood Festival). It is palpable that the Body of ‘Word & Spirit’ witnesses do keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Tabernacle Prayer: The video briefly mentions a specific form of prayer called "Tabernacle Prayer," and describes it as a complete form of prayer given to Moses under the Old Covenant and completed by Jesus in the New Covenant. It is the way God has chosen for us to relate to Him and He to us and is so fitting for this new move of the holy Spirit.
· Praying in Tongues: Also mentioned is Praying in Tongues and a reminder to pray in the Spirit on all occasions and how it touches every other form of prayer. This is a part of the “Spirit” dimension.
· The Spiritual Landscape: The video describes the ‘spiritual landscape’ as we find it today as described by the UK Census 2021 and other reliable sources.
6. Plenary: The video concludes with a list of jobs people might consider doing to support this move of the Holy Spirit, in particular supplying information for the web site.
At the very heart of the Embassy is the good news of reconciliation: God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting our sins against us. You do not have to earn your way into His favour or navigate human religious barriers to find life. Through the finished work of Jesus on the cross, the veil has been torn open from top to bottom, making a direct way for you to step out of the wilderness of guilt and self-reliance and into the unconditional love of the Father.
As ambassadors for Christ, our appeal to you is simple and urgent: “Be reconciled to God”. The King is not offering an impossible standard, but a treaty of peace—He is asking you to come home. When you turn away from sin and place your trust in Him, He washes away the past, wraps you in garments of salvation, and makes you His dwelling place. Come through the open door of Christ today, receive His peace, and discover the life you were created to live.
